The legal requirement
Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine on Insurance makes insurance compulsory for journalists, reporters, correspondents, media representatives and opinion leaders entering the country. Border officers and press-accreditation bodies both treat the certificate as part of your document set — alongside your press card and accreditation from the Armed Forces media centre.
Extended, and know where it stops
Media work in Ukraine runs closer to affected regions than tourism does, so the €30,000 limit is the sensible default — €2,000 does not go far once surgery and evacuation are involved.
Be clear-eyed about the territorial limits, though: the contract does not answer for events in areas of active hostilities, in occupied territory, within 50 km of either, or under a special access regime. For front-line assignments you need specialist hostile-environment cover in addition to this policy, not instead of the paperwork.

Is the certificate accepted for AFU press accreditation?
Accreditation packets require proof of insurance, and a certificate from a licensed insurer satisfies that line item. Check current accreditation rules with the Armed Forces media centre before travel.
Does the policy cover work near the front line?
No. Areas of active hostilities and a 50 km band around them are outside the contract's territorial scope. This policy covers the rest of the country, including military-risk injuries there.
